This figure represents one of the 42nd Highland regiments that fought at the Battle of the Alma.  The 42nd Regiment earned battle honors during the seige of the Great Redout.  Along with the 93rd Highland Regiment, they attacked and drove the Russian forces away while securing a vital position for the British and French Forces.

For this figure I made a custom Kilmarnock bonnet out of felt with feathers.  I also made the Tunic with working buttons and the cartridge pouch.  The gaiters are from the DID French Carnot figure cut down.  The water bottle is a repainted DID one.  The pack, kilt, socks and shoes are from DID also.

The cap badge is from Tony Barton.  I know that the badge is the wrong one, but I like this one better than the correct one.

The musket is the British Minie` rifled musket.  It was mad
e using both a SST Civil War Enfield and a DID Bruce musket, with a custom leather strap and a T. Barton ramming rod.  Thanks to Andyshepart for the tip on this.
